The 24-point check
What we inspect, what we measure, and what you get in writing before you pay.
Why 24 points, and why written down
Buying second-hand usually means taking someone’s word for the battery. We do not sell on that basis. Every vehicle is inspected in six groups, the measurements go into a report, and the report travels with the vehicle.
Two numbers carry the most weight: measured battery capacity and the range we recorded on a fixed test route. Both are stated with the conditions they were measured under, so you can compare them with your own ride.
Battery & charging
- 01Capacity under loadControlled discharge with the pack on the bike, recorded in Wh and as a percentage of rated capacity.
- 02Cycle count and BMS codesCycles read from the battery management system, plus any stored error codes.
- 03Charger and portOutput voltage checked, cable and plug inspected, charge port and lock tested.
- 04Mounting and keysBattery lock, key operation and rail fixing torque.
Motor & drivetrain
- 05Assist cut-offAssistance verified to cut out at the legal limit for the class.
- 06Sensor responseTorque or cadence sensor response and walk-assist function.
- 07Drivetrain wearChain stretch, cassette teeth, belt condition, derailleur alignment.
- 08Firmware and errorsSoftware version recorded; motor error log read where the system exposes it.
Brakes, wheels & tyres
- 09Pads and discsPad thickness and disc wear measured, not eyeballed.
- 10Lever feel and bleedLever travel, hose condition, hydraulic bleed where needed.
- 11TyresTread depth, sidewall condition, correct pressure for the load.
- 12WheelsWheel true, spoke tension, hub bearing play.
Frame & steering
- 13Frame and weldsAlignment check and full weld inspection under a lamp.
- 14Headset and bearingsPlay, indexing and bearing condition.
- 15Fork and suspensionStanchion condition, travel, air pressure or spring rate.
- 16MountingsRack, mudguard and accessory bolts checked to torque.
Electrics & controls
- 17Display and controllerEvery assist level, walk mode and error state exercised.
- 18Lights and reflectorsFront, rear, brake light and reflectors where fitted.
- 19Loom and connectorsCable routing, insulation, connector corrosion.

What the check does not do
It is not an independent survey
You are welcome to have the vehicle inspected by your own mechanic before delivery. We will hold it for 48 hours while that happens.
Ask us to hold itIt does not rewrite history
Where paperwork is missing we say so in the report. We record what we can verify and mark the rest as unavailable.
Read the warranty termsIt does not cover wear after delivery
Tyres, pads and cables wear with use. The 7-day guarantee is about condition on arrival, not consumables afterwards.
